Chagford is situated on the north eastern edge of Dartmoor. 

It is a thriving community with a comprehensive range of restaurants, pubs, hotels and shops, including two large hardware stores in the town square.

The parish church of St Michael the Archangel was dedicated in 1261, the tower dates back
to the 15th century.
